How to Convert HEIF to GIF

GIF's 256-color palette is a dramatic step down from HEIF's color depth, which can extend well beyond standard 8-bit per channel depending on the source device. Converting a HEIF photo to GIF will visibly reduce color accuracy, especially in images with smooth gradients like skies or skin tones, often introducing dithering patterns as the format approximates the original colors using its restricted palette.
